How to Utilize Your Business Review and Forecast

The Derrick published the Business Review & Forecast on February 18. If you have a newspaper delivered each day, it would have been hard to miss. It was the BIG edition. So, what’s the big deal? This is a great tool for every business and organization when put to use.

Taking the time to write about your business is a valuable exercise. If you wonder if anyone reads what you’ve written, we assure you they do. Here at the Chamber, it is a great reference for us.

As we read and reread the Business Review, we often learn something that changed in a business that slipped by us. We also learn of new businesses who we haven’t connected with. Throughout the year, as we help promote our members, this special edition is often a source of information we can quickly reference.

Cranberry High School teacher Heather Motter uses the Business Review & Forecast with her students for a newspaper scavenger hunt. In this exercise, students not only learn about our area and businesses, but are exposed to many careers available in the Oil Region. For any businesses needing to share their hiring needs, this is terrific exposure.

If you don’t receive the newspaper, there is no need to despair. This special edition is viewable online at thederrick.com and without a subscription.

We suggest you make a note on your calendar now, for December 1, 2022, to plan your submission for next year. Or better yet, start writing now and add to your story each month until your year is complete and ready for the 2023 edition.
