Committee Meetings
FLEX has three committees that work to strengthen the group:
- Membership: Focuses on attracting & retaining young professionals. Also plans the FLEX Speaker Series.
- Events & Fundraising: Plans & executes FLEX events and socials (listed below).
- Marketing & Community Partnerships: Promotes the organization & coordinates volunteer activities.
The committees are currently meeting virtually at various days and times. If you’d like to participate in a committee, contact us to learn more and get connected.
FLEX Socials
FLEX holds socials about once a month at local businesses as a way to have casual meet-ups to network with other FLEX members. These include Happy Hours, Coffee Chats, Historical Walking Tours, Tailgate Socials, and more.
We post our socials on our Facebook page and the Chamber Events Page.
Speaker Series
The FLEX Speaker Series is held quarterly and features professionals speaking on personal and professional development topics. Previous session topics include personal finance, career development, effective leadership, and building a successful business.

FLEX Presents
FLEX Presents is an annual event that celebrates the achievements of local young professionals who contribute to their community through civic engagement. Nominations are accepted and each year one young professional is named “Young Professional of the Year.”

Oil Heritage Festival Ice Cream Social
FLEX members volunteer to serve ice cream and toppings during the Venango Chamber’s annual Oil Heritage Festival Ice Cream Social each July.

Oil Heritage Festival Bike & Brew
Each year, FLEX holds a beerfest in Justus Park with samples from local breweries. In the past two years, we held a Curbside Bike ‘n Brew and offered a “package” made up of cans of local beer, swag, trail maps, coupons, and more.

Student Appreciation Luncheon
FLEX holds the Student Appreciation Luncheon to show our appreciation to college students who choose to spend their summer in the Venango Area. The event consists of a luncheon with a brief program, in which young professionals share their stories and the opportunities that exist here.
Annual Meeting
The Annual Meeting is held in winter and consists of a brief business meeting, networking, free professional headshots, hors d’oeuvres and beverages, and entertainment.
