VenangoREADY Opportunities

Part of the VenangoREADY Program is focused on connecting employers and educators. We want to share opportunities to help students prepare for future careers. Below are opportunities from our members for students:

Central Electric Cooperative: Youth Tour
CEC and other co-ops around the country have participated in sending students to Washington D.C. to visit historical sites, meet with representatives, and learn about the political process. While the program has been on hold for the last couple of years, it will return in June 2023. Youth Tour is an opportunity for students to attend an all-expenses paid, weeklong trip. The application process is currently open for high school juniors receiving electricity from CEC.

For more information on the application process, CLICK HERE or go to central.coop/youth-tour.

Drake Well: Discovery School Tours
At Drake Well in Titusville, students in grades K-12 can discover the birthplace of the modern petroleum industry through guided, hands-on tours.  Follow the link for more information: Discovery School Tours

UPMC Northwest: Job Shadow/Career Readiness Contact
UPMC Northwest has been receiving many requests for job shadowing and career readiness. If you are interested in these areas, please contact their Learning Resource Center to facilitate the request at 814-676-7992.

NPRC: Community Calendar
The Northern Pennsylvania Regional College has some upcoming outreach events on the calendar.

Check out their Fall NPRC Open House on October 25 at their new Franklin location. There are also two more opportunities for a Franklin Meet & Greet
