Rebecca Beach Named Volunteer of the Year

Each year the Chamber selects a volunteer who makes a difference in what we’re doing, helps us along, and sees things that need to be done before we even see them.

Rebecca Beach (pictured right with Chamber staff member Ashley Sheffer) was honored at our Annual Dinner as the 2021 Volunteer of the Year. Rebecca is a former board member, a longtime member of FLEX, and a great asset to our team.

She has been our point person for the Oil Heritage Festival’s FLEX Ice Cream Social for years and is the kind of person who always shows up early, stays late, and asks how else she can help.

In her professional role, Rebecca is the Loan Program Manager for the Northwest Commission, where she administers and markets their loan programs. Rebecca also serves on the Friends of Oil Creek State Park board, United Way’s Financial Stability Committee and FICDA’s Oil Region Enterprise Zone Committee.

Thank you for all you do to serve your community, Rebecca!

Hagan Business Machines
Tactfulness & Manners

As a leader in your field, next time you are tempted to let someone “have it,” or to give them a “piece of your mind,” or to excuse your negativity because you are having a bad day, why not put on your best smile, choose to be pleasant, positive, and as tactful and mannerly as you can possibly be? Even if they don’t “deserve” it, why not choose to take the high road? You’ll feel better, and guess what? Your efforts just might build a beautiful bridge to a client or a customer, instead of burning it down!
