Meet Our Board: Dan Flaherty

Dan Flaherty, Executive Director of the Oil Region Library Association, joined the Venango Chamber Board of Directors this year.

An Oil City native, Dan and his wife Ashley enjoy spending time with their son, hiking, playing disc golf, reading, gardening, and Dan even dabbles in home brewing. A 2019 graduate of the Chamber’s leadership program, Leadership Venango, he is also involved with the Oil Valley Disc Golf Society and the Pennsylvania Library Association.

When asked what he does for work, Dan responds: “I make connections. Along with much support from staff, I connect people to information and resources, to each other and to their local community.” The Oil Region Library Association oversees the operations of all three (Oil City, Franklin, and Cooperstown) public libraries within the County.

Dan has already been a great asset to the Chamber board, asking tough questions and offering a great perspective to conversations.

“The Chamber has offered me and my organization so much, personally and professionally,” he said. “I want to take the time to give back to preserve and advance a great local resource.”
