Leadership Venango Reflects on Education Session

The 2021 class of Leadership Venango met in February to discuss “The Importance of an Educated Workforce.” Here are their reflections on parts of the latest session:

Panel with Local School Counselors
“I enjoyed talking to the School Counselor panel. They shared so much information and I feel empowered to reach out to our local school counselors as a resource to help with teen programming at the library.”

40 Developmental Assets Presentation
“Learning about the 40 assets was insightful and I’ll use it when working with young people.”
“The most valuable part of this session was learning the 40 developmental assets and seeing the different percentages [of young people who had each asset as a protective factor].”

Book Discussion: 13 Ways to Kill a Community
“[The book discussion] really helped me get a more full understanding of the book. I will pass that knowledge to other leaders.”
“After the book discussion, I spoke with our corporate community projector and encouraged her to read the book.”

We really appreciate the opportunity to expose our classes to the wonderful presenters and curated sessions of our program.
