BBCF Creates Opportunity to Assist with Community Needs

Are you a nonprofit organization that is continuing to be impacted by COVID-19? Are you a community member searching for ways to support our area during this difficult time? We encourage you to visit the Community Needs website (bbcfneeds.org) by Bridge Builders Community Foundations.

After discussions with local nonprofit leaders, the BBCF recognized the need for community support and engagement during these uncertain times. This website is a resource to our area while overcoming challenges presented by COVID-19, and ensures continuation of the vital services many nonprofit organizations provide to individuals and families in our area.

The Community Needs website allows local nonprofit organizations to submit needs they have for ongoing operations and to support the clients they serve. Upon submission, those needs are added to the home page for the community to view. If individuals wish to donate needed items, they may contact the respective organization to set up a drop-off date, time, and location. The organization’s contact person will inform the individual of any other protocols such as the requirement of wearing a face mask. For some needed items, individuals can use linked Amazon wishlists to donate items and have them sent directly to the organization’s address.

Additionally, BBCF has established a face mask initiative as part of the efforts for the Community Needs website. This supply of disposable 3-ply face masks will be distributed to our area’s nonprofit organizations. If an individual wishes to make a monetary donation to help the Foundation purchase more masks, a donation can be made at the Community Needs website (bbcfneeds.org).

Support from the community is key to facing the adverse challenges presented to our area due to this pandemic.
