With hope and optimism that 2021 will be a better year for all of us, First Night Oil City will welcome in the New Year, albeit a little different than usual. The committee, who has been meeting virtually, felt strongly about continuing the tradition of the celebration.

Understanding that the cozy inside venues of the past could pose a health risk and may also deter the normal attendance levels, the decision was made to focus on adding additional ice sculptures to Town Square and other locations around town and displaying a fantastic fireworks show at midnight.

First Night volunteer George Cooley shares: “We look forward to First Night 2022, the culmination of Oil City’s 150th celebration, and have every intention to return to our traditional format of concerts and entertainment for the entire family and community.”
