Venango 4-H Kids Doing Great Things

Venango County 4-H participants have been quite busy the last few months. In November, several 4-H kids were awarded scholarships to attend camps, and the new 4-H King and Queen were selected. Avah Burke, 4-H Queen, and Karter Hoffman, 4-H King, received these awards and will represent Venango 4-H for the next year at local events.

In December, 4-H Teen Council hosted their annual Winter Formal Dance in memory of Maddie Johnson. They had nearly 100 kids attend from five counties.

In January, Venango 4-H was well represented at the PA Farm Show, with over fifteen 4-H participants exhibiting their livestock, sewing, baking, woodworking, and poster projects. Two Venango 4-H leaders were also recognized at the Farm Show as the Outstanding PA 4-H Lamb and Goat Leaders.

Venango County 4-H is open to all youth ages 5-18 years old. For more information or to join 4-H, contact the PennState Extension office at (814) 437-7607 or email VenangoExt@psu.edu.
