Venango County has long been recognized as a place that provides endless opportunities to get outside, whether to participate in recreation or to simply stroll and breathe in the fresh air.
There is something for everyone, across the four seasons. But in the business of our days, it is easy to lose perspective of just how fortunate we are and how many options we have. We are likely to settle into the routines of our family and friends, with the risk of missing out on what others love about our region.
For those of us who work to promote our area’s assets, it can be overwhelming to capture it all. We’ve long sought out the best photographs that exhibit the changing colors of the seasons and the activities that go along with them. In recent years, video has provided a new perspective, allowing us to also show even more details about what we love about playing in our backyards.
The newest video project, just released, is Experience Recreation in the Oil Region. A collaborative project of Be Here Venango, Oil Region Alliance, County of Venango and GBS Web Services, and 7 Foot Productions, the second in a series of videos showcasing Venango County, provides a glimpse into a few of the activities available here, many at little or no cost.
Videographer Devin Zagar, owner of 7 Foot Productions, remarks, “I have lived in Venango County all my life and I continue to learn about places I’ve never visited and opportunities to participate in activities I didn’t know about. We want this latest video to inspire people to rediscover what’s available and to share with others why they love living here.”
Chamber President Susan Williams shares, “Too often it is visitors who are telling the better story of what’s special about the place we call home. They come here with a fresh perspective and often return over and over again. It is easy to take for granted how convenient it is to step onto a trail, for biking, hiking or boating. These videos may remind us not to miss out, but also are available to share with those you’d like to invite to join in.”
