Rocko’s Shifts from Pizza to Variety Shop

Nine years ago, Kevin and Liz Roth opened Rocko’s Pizzeria in Oil City. In August of this year, an electrical issue inside the building forced them to cease operations until new service could be installed. During this process, the Roth’s decided to sell off their food inventory and some staff moved on to other jobs, as they weren’t sure when they would be operational again.

At that time, they thought they would retire from owning a business as their first grandchild was on the way and restaurant days are very long. Two months into “retirement”, they began looking for a new opportunity for the building they still owned.

The idea for a variety shop was born. Rocko’s Variety Shop offers household goods, pantry items, cleaning supplies, paper goods, hygiene products, small furniture, outdoor items, toys, baby products, and more.

The inventory will never be the same and new items will be brought in weekly. The Roth’s will stock mostly new items, but there will be some gently used, unique, or antique products as well. Stop by the store, located at 122 East First Street, and follow their Facebook page for more information.
