Member Spotlight: Goodwill Industries of North Central Pennsylvania

Meeting life challenges through opportunity, education, training, and work.

Goodwill Industries of North Central Pennsylvania (NCPA) continues to expand and meet the needs of the communities they serve, including Venango County.

Currently, there is a Goodwill store in Cranberry and an attended donation center in Seneca, and they recently opened the new Oil City store on September 29, located at 400 East Second Street.

Goodwill is more than a store; they earn revenue from donations of textiles, household items, and electronics by selling them in the stores to fund their programs. The stores make it possible for them to provide on-the-job training and create jobs for people facing barriers to employment.

“Our ideal customer is someone who wants to make a difference in their community. By donating or shopping in our stores, everyone can help change a life,” said a representative at Goodwill NCPA.

Goodwill NCPA opened its doors in 1966 in DuBois and is governed by a volunteer board of directors.

They serve communities in 14 Pennsylvania counties:  Cameron, Centre, Clarion, Clearfield, Clinton, Elk, Forest, Jefferson, Lycoming, McKean, Potter, Tioga, Venango, and Warren.  Goodwill NCPA is one of over 170 independently operated Goodwill’s in the country.

Goodwill is a non-profit and 90 cents of every dollar they make in their stores goes back into their mission. In the future, they expect more programs will be offered and new stores will be opened throughout the North Central Pennsylvania territory.

Stop by the new Oil City store and join us at the official Ribbon Cutting on Friday, October 19!
