International Women’s Day (IWD) is a globally recognized day to celebrate the achievements of women. Each year, there is a theme for the day and groups come together to rally for women’s equality and fundraise for female-focused charities.

Marked annually on March 8th, International Women’s Day is commemorated in a number of ways worldwide. There are a lot of ways to celebrate IWD, from organized events and social media campaigns, to raising funds for a local women’s charity, or reaching out to the women in your life who have inspired you.

Local organizations that you can support this IWD would include the Oil City-Franklin Zonta International Club, which can be found on Facebook at “Zonta International, Franklin-Oil City Pa.” Zonta International is a leading global organization of professionals empowering women through service and advocacy.
