Cranberry High School Launches VenangoREADY

Cranberry High School staff—Mrs. Motter, Mr. Hubler, and Mr. Godinich—have thoughtfully worked together to create a checklist of lessons and activities focused on the six VenangoREADY attributes, which are important to employers when looking to hire. The criteria are a combination of ongoing CHS and new VenangoREADY curriculum, that demonstrate students’ knowledge and application of these soft skills.

Throughout January, all CHS seniors received the criteria and can complete the checklist by collecting appropriate signatures, to then be designated “VenangoREADY” upon graduation. As students received the applications, they were overheard speculating on which items they can accomplish, and which might be challenging. They’re realizing why their choices are so important and that actions have consequences which can impact future opportunities.

“VenangoREADY provides an opportunity to verify the lessons we’re already doing in one program,” said Heather Motter.

Chamber staff are excited to see our first group of VenangoREADY designees at graduation! If your business would like to be added as a VenangoREADY supporter, please contact Program Manager Kat Thompson at kthompson@venangochamber.org.
