Matric Hosts Business Leaders for NFIB Meeting

IMG_0827Seneca-based Matric hosted a National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) town hall meeting in May, bringing together several small business owners of Venango County for a roundtable discussion on state and federal regulations with Congressman Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson and PA State Senator Scott Hutchinson.

During the meeting, attendees had the chance to discuss pressing matters affecting their businesses with the representatives, including trucking regulations, healthcare, conflict mineral laws, drug testing and the opioid crisis heavily affecting Western PA. In turn, Thompson and Hutchinson provided insight into the issues from a legislative perspective and offered updates on the current state of government at the state and federal levels.

The meeting ended with a tour of Matric’s 84,000 square-ft. facility and a view of their new $1.4 million surface mount technology (SMT) line in action.

Matric Group, an electronics contract manufacturer, reports that 2018 has been a busy year, leading to a year-long hiring binge, much to the benefit of Venango County. Now over 300 employees, Matric plans to continue adding to its workforce, as customer demand remains high.IMG_0824
