Dixie Gordon is the owner of Amazing Stitches and the Ice Cream Parlor in Emlenton, and she joined the Venango Chamber Board in 2024.
Dixie is originally from Port Allegheny but has called Emlenton home for many years.
Sewing is a lifelong hobby of Dixie’s, but in the late 90’s, she became interested in home embroidery and shortly after that a part-time home sewing business was founded.
In 2008, she rented out a storefront in Emlenton and by 2012 had purchased the building. Amazing Stitches is now a retail store and quilt shop, that also does industrial manufacturing jobs, offers classes, and more.
In 2023, Dixie opened the Ice Cream Parlor of Emlenton, which serves popular Penn State Creamery flavors.
Dixie is very involved in the Emlenton community, often being a connector for other business owners and community members. She owns the building that houses two of the newest businesses in downtown Emlenton, 50 Shades of Grapes Wine Bar and the Ice Cream Parlor.
When asked why she decided to serve on the Chamber board, Dixie said: “Being part of the Chamber of Commerce board gives me the opportunity to interact with like-minded business professionals.”
Welcome Dixie!
