Together We Can (TWC) of Venango County board members hosted a “Greet and Meet” event on July 18, to meet with local community members who signed up on their website to become allies of our nonprofit organization.
The event provided an opportunity for the allies to discuss their reason for choosing to become a partner to the organization’s quest to build a community of acceptance and diversity. Family backgrounds, past experiences, and personal values were shared by both the board members and the allies which stimulated some very passionate and inspiring discussion.
In addition, an array of cultural artifacts, books, pictures and historical documents were on display to set the tone and educate attendees on the journey to equality for people of color. These allies will assist TWC at future events and actively promote the acceptance and equality of people within their own circle of family, friends, and associates.
Their intervention will hopefully initiate a ripple effect that will continue to expand and have a positive influence on the community in which we all live. Anyone interested in making a difference in this little part of the world by becoming an ally of TWC can visit TWC2023.org and complete the ally form.
