The Chamber learned from Kingdom Guard Financial Group that November 1, 2023, is the open enrollment period for Pennie. This is the health insurance marketplace for Pennsylvania residents. For businesses that do not offer health insurance to their employees, this can be a crucial time for them. As a way to help keep morale up within your company, allowing professionals to come in and talk about private health insurance, or even giving them access to a professional shows that you care about them. Only 17% of new consumers used a broker for the 2022/2023 enrollment season.

A study done by United Health showed that only 9% of Americans showed an understanding of four basic terms: health plan premium, health plan deductible, out-of-pocket maximum, and co-insurance*.
