The Oil Region Alliance of Business, Industry and Tourism is pleased to announce the hiring of Abigail WatsonPopescu as Assistant Project Manager.
Abbe will be working on heritage and outdoor recreation projects, which immediately include a revision of the Oil Region National Heritage Area driving tour.
This is not Abbe’s first involvement with the ORA. She volunteered early in the Tarbell House restoration project at 324 East Main Street in Titusville.
This introduction to preserving historic buildings led to Abbe earning an A.A.S. in Building Restoration and Preservation from Belmont College in addition to her English Literature and Medieval/Early Modern Studies B.A. from Dickinson College and graduate coursework in English Literature from the University of Virginia.
“We are thrilled to have Abbe join the team,” said John R. Phillips, II, ORA President and CEO. “Her experience and education are very complimentary to the projects and mission of the organization.”
Abbe currently volunteers as a member of the Titusville Planning Commission, the Titusville Historical Society collections committee, and Board President for the Greater Titusville Development Foundation. She lives in Titusville with her husband and their three children.
