The Franklin, Titusville and Venango Area Chambers of Commerce and the Oil Region Alliance will hold a public breakfast forum at 7:30 a.m. Friday at the Arlington Hotel, Oil City.
The breakfast, set for the fifth-floor of the hotel, will focus on different ways businesses can lower energy costs.
Geoff Bristow, manager of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection’s office of energy and technology deployment, will discuss the small business energy efficiency program.
The program provides 25 percent reimbursement grants (up to $25,000) for Pennsylvania businesses with no more than 100 employees to acquire new equipment or adopt certain processes that promote energy efficiency.
The grants can be used for such energy reducing practices as purchasing heat pumps or energy efficient lighting to help cut energy costs while reducing energy consumption. The deadline to apply for the state grants is May 1.
Gary Svetz, president and CEO of Svetz Consulting Services, will detail the wholesale energy markets and purchasing options and present an overview of current alternative energy applications that could be useful to businesses.
Registrations for the breakfast and program are due by Tuesday and may be made by calling 676-8521. The cost of breakfast is $15.
