Fontanazza Celebrates 30 Years in Education


Mario Fontanazza Jr began teaching technology education at the Oil City Middle School in 1993. In 2002, Mario received his Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Edinboro University.

He began his career as a school administrator in 2003 as the Assistant Principal at Oil City High School. In 2007, Mario became the principal of the Venango Technology Center and was then made the Director in 2010. As the Director, he has updated the courses to align with the current occupational needs of the Venango County area. He also volunteers on several educational and civic boards.

Mario lives in Oil City with his wife Susie, daughter Abby, son Mario III, and his dogs, Finn and Rocky. He enjoys coaching football at Oil City High School, riding his UTV, hunting and fishing.
