More than $1.5 million in state funding from the Local Shared Account program has been awarded for community improvement efforts in Venango County. The state funds will go toward nine projects in the county.
Included in the recipients are several Venango Chamber members who will receive funding for ongoing projects and equipment:
Lyric Theater – $200,000 renovations to the Lyric Theater
Venango County Economic Development Authority – $200,000 for continued work on the 100 Seneca project
City of Oil City – $86,850 to purchase a Ford F-550 cab chassis
City of Franklin – $200,000 to go toward renovation of City Hall building
Two Mile Run – $56,476 to purchase equipment to maintain Two Mile Run County Park. The grants were approved and awarded by the Commonwealth Financing Authority, and the Local Shared Account money is derived from gaming revenues.
