In May, the Venango Chamber launched VenangoREADY and we have developed a monthly email, to provide information about career readiness and opportunities for educators and businesses to work together.
Anyone can subscribe. Content is intended for educators looking for career readiness resources, businesses who would like to contribute to the education and skills training of students, and other education program providers with resources to share.
BUSINESSES
A common challenge of businesses is the need for more “work ready” employees. We all want to employ those who show up (on time), work well with others, communicate, and solve problems. These skills may best be taught at home, but we all play a role in teaching and modeling the behaviors we expect.
VenangoREADY is intended to connect educators to businesses willing to participate in tours, mock interviews, presentations, and job shadows.
Businesses may have resources to add in partnering with schools and we want to make it easier for you to reach each other.
What to share in monthly email?
- Does your industry or business have tools for schools?
- Can you provide mentors, shadow experiences or jobs to students?
- Has your business had a great experience with local students or teachers that you’d like to share with others?
PROGRAM PROVIDERS
Our region is rich with partners who offer programs to better prepare our future workforce, including skills-based and soft skills training. We’re inviting these partners to share information that will help connect businesses and students through their programs.
