Commission Director Appointed to Governor-Elect Shapiro’s Committee

Executive Director of the Northwest Commission, Jill Foys, has added a very important leadership role to her current efforts. Jill was asked to join the Economic Development Transition Advisory Committee, created by the Governor-Elect and the Lieutenant Governor-Elect to advise their transition on a wide array of different policy areas to help move the Commonwealth forward.

At the top of Governor-Elect Shapiro’s priorities: growing our economy, making our communities safer, and ensuring all Pennsylvania students receive a high-quality education. Under the Economic Development umbrella, Jill is on the Business Development subcommittee, a topic at the forefront of conversation in our communities throughout the region.

“The Business Development Subcommittee is an impressive group of business leaders and policy experts, and I feel privileged to be included,” Jill said. “As a representative of rural Pennsylvania, I am honored to be a part of conversations that will shape Governor-Elect Shapiro’s policies and programs.”

Congratulations Jill!
