Chamber Intern Lexi Henry Returns for Winter Break

I’m excited to be back at the Venango Chamber for my last winter break! I just finished the fall semester of my Senior year at Slippery Rock University and am eager to get involved with local festivities.

This past semester was difficult, but I was able to achieve A’s in all of my classes. I took Financial Markets and Institutions, Principles of Insurance, Organizational Behavior, Issues in Global Business, and 3 dance classes. I was also acting as a mentor through the Honors College and the Dance Department as well as working in the campus mailroom.

I have learned a lot of business, organizational, and Microsoft Office tools that I feel will be very beneficial to me when I enter the workforce after graduation in May. I am in the process of looking for jobs and hope to begin applying within the coming weeks.

Before I left this past summer, I was able to make a succession plan for the Chamber’s new summer intern. The Chamber is currently still looking for candidates to take over my position, and I would be more than happy to offer a job shadow day over the next few weeks while I am home.

Over the past 3 years, I was able to gain a lot of event/project management experience through organizing the parade and basket raffle, as well as running the Oil Heritage Festival Facebook page. This internship also taught me better online organizational techniques which helped me be more successful at school.

I greatly appreciate all of the experience I have gotten from working here and interacting with the community. It has given me real-world experience that will make the transition after college so much easier. Some of my favorite parts about working at the Chamber have been event planning and getting to meet so many new people. I admire this community and want to thank you all for an amazing 3 years in Venango County.
