Artists Collaborate Across Region

ARTS Oil City has collaborated with the Bridge Literary Arts Center and the Red Brick Gallery in Foxburg to curate an exhibit featuring artists and writers from around Northwest PA.

Ekphrasis: Writers Responding to Art is an exhibition of artwork paired with Poetry. Fifteen artists were invited to submit one piece of art and our local artists are well represented in the mix. Once the art selection was finalized, the participating writers each selected one piece of art and created a poem to accompany it.

The public is invited to meet the artists and writers at a Reception and Reading on June 2nd from 4:00 p.m.—6:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Participating Visual Artists from Oil City or with ties to our community: Marcy Hall, Mike Hoover, CJ Hurley, Rafi Perez, Mary Hamilton, Jamie Hunt, Richard Sayer. Participating writers from Oil City or with ties to our community: Brady Buchanan, Cindy Eckert, Barbara Rumore, Phil Terman, Patricia Thrushart, and Tracey Lander-Garret who has recently moved from Portland, OR through the Artists Relocation Program.
