McDonald’s in Oil City has recently undergone a complete makeover. The project, which began October 9, was completed in less than one month, with a soft opening held on November 3 and a ribbon cutting planned for November 9 at 10 a.m.

Area Supervisor Nick Delligatti, son of franchise owner Dan Delligatti, sat down with Chamber Director Susan Williams to talk about the scope of the remodel. The store will have the same footprint as the previous building but that is about all that will remain the same. The new, contemporary façade will be complimented by two drive up lanes, complete with outside digital ordering.  Inside, customers will find self service kiosks, in addition to the full service windows they are accustomed to. Once an order is placed, those dining in can make their way to a table, where their order will be served.

Perhaps the most significant upgrades will be to the operations behind the counter. McDonald’s staff, donning new uniforms, will find their new workspace to be completely redesigned, for better workflow and with upgraded equipment.

Of the few things that won’t change will be the staff.  Nick compliments Manager Becky Eismont, who will continue to lead the Oil City team. “Becky has been with us for a long time and does a great job here.  She seems to know everyone who walks in.” The store will continue to add staff, an opportunity for anyone who is looking for a business that offers paths to promotion and management.

Nick is a graduate of the respected Hamburger University and looks forward to being a fourth generational business owner.  His great grandfather Jim bought his first McDonald’s in 1957 and later created the first Big Mac. His grandson Dan, Nick’s father, owns the Oil City, Franklin and Cranberry McDonald’s, along with seven other stores.
