OHF Update—Parade Route Changes

Due to the construction work planned for Veterans Bridge this Summer, we will not be able to hold the Oil Heritage Festival Parade along its normal route.

We considered putting the parade on hold for this year, but after discussing with the Oil Heritage Festival committee, as well as the local police and fire chiefs, a representative from PennDOT, and the Oil City Mayor, we have determined an alternate route.

The parade will be held on West Third Street, starting at the intersection of West Third Street and Mitchell Avenue, and continuing to the intersection of West Third Street and Central Avenue. Staging and line-up will be along Mitchell Avenue up to the Bouquin Circle area. There will be some limitations on sizes of vehicles, which will be detailed on the registration form.

We are excited to keep this longstanding event on the schedule this year and hope the parade participants and community will support this temporary change of location. We hope to be back to the normal West First Street route next year.

Parade registration forms will be ready in early May and will be mailed to past participants. The form will be accessible from oilheritagefestival.com. Please call the Chamber with any questions at (814) 676-8521.
