News From Century Arts Design and Fine Art Studio

Century Arts Design and Fine Art Studio was recently highlighted for their art in two different ways, and artists Barbara Pierce and CJ Hurley also continue to share their passion for art with the local community.

Pomegranate Publications, makers of fine art reproduction products for museums around the country, has selected local artist, CJ Hurley for a 2024 Art Calendar. This is the 3rd year CJ’s art has been used for a “Lure of the Land” calendar which showcased CJ’s fantastical landscapes, rich with color and texture. Calendars and puzzles from CJ’s art can be purchased at Artist’s Attic in downtown Oil City, at CJ’s studio on Artists Sunday (11/26) and online at pomegranate.com/collections/cj-hurley.

CJ Hurley has had a painting juried into the Erie Art Museum, NW PA Artists Association 8th annual Biennial Exhibition. The show was juried by Madeline Gent, Executive Director of the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh, and will include 50 works by 43 fine artists from around NW Pennsylvania. Everyone is invited to a public reception on Thursday, November 16, 6-8 p.m. The work will be on exhibit through March.

Pathways students interested in art were invited on a field trip with Barbara Pierce and CJ Hurley, to “The Lyrical Landscape” exhibition at Graffiti Gallery last month. The kids enjoyed looking at the art, asking questions with CJ and watching the documentary art film about CJ.
