Energy Conference Returns to Region

Andrew Tabler

The second Oil Heritage Energy Security Conference is scheduled in the Oil Region for October 12 and 13. Under the compelling theme “Back to the Future? Energy’s past and its lessons for powering a sustainable and prosperous tomorrow”, this event will bring together industry leaders, subject experts, officials, and community leaders. They will engage in meaningful discussions about the future of energy security while immersing themselves in the rich history of the “valley that changed the world.”

Khazar Ibrahim, Bill Moon, and Sam Breene

The concept for this conference originated during a visit by Khazar Ibrahim, the ambassador of Azerbaijan to the U.S., who explored the Oil Region in May 2022. Ambassador Ibrahim was drawn to our region due to the striking similarities between its oil history and that of Baku in Azerbaijan. This connection was fostered by Andrew J. Tabler, a native of Oil City, an esteemed author, and the Martin J. Gross Senior Fellow at The Washington Institute. Tabler serves as the driving force behind this conference, fueling its momentum and vision.
