SMS group, a global company headquartered in Germany in the metals industry, is celebrating 150 years of business! In honor of this huge milestone, all 14,000 or so SMS employees at over 150 locations worldwide are celebrating the occasion, including right here in Oil City.

SMS group has had a facility in Oil City for over 20 years and employs around 80. This facility specializes in service, repairs, and modernizations related to the casters used in the steel making process.

The facility in Oil City held their anniversary celebration on August 20 at their shop location. The celebration was a carnival theme. All employees were welcome to bring their families for a fun-filled day of food, bounce houses, popcorn, cotton candy, prize auction, and shop tours.
