Corinne Carbaugh has been with Youth Alternatives (YA) since January of 2016. Between hire and September of 2022, she honed in the Justus Fellows Program, developed the Health Resource Center Program, cross-trained on all positions, grew as a leader and mentor, and solidified her place as a core employee at the agency.
Corinne was named Executive Director when her predecessor, Corrina Woods, submitted her resignation in August of this year.
Corinne says she hopes to continue to grow and learn everyday as Director, while helping and empowering local youth via YA’s free programming.
She acknowledges that none of this would have been possible if not for the support she receives from family, friends, and her mentor of eleven years, Corrina Woods.
YA is also excited to introduce Deena Smith. Deena has been with YA since February and has over 30 years of management experience where she has been a district management team lead and has mentored many teens and adults.
Deena has come to YA to share her knowledge with the youth served and to make a difference in local children’s lives.
And finally, YA’s newest staff member, Lisa Simmers, who started with YA in November. Lisa brings with her to YA many years of experience in working with children.
She has 16 plus years volunteering as a girl scout leader in the area and is extremely organized and very dedicated to improving the lives of children.
Lisa has a powerful desire to help guide and direct future generations and gets a great deal of satisfaction out of helping those who may be marginalized due to finances, disability, or social status.
Lisa will continue to learn along the side of Corinne and continue to grow with the company.
Congratulations to Corinne, Deena, and Lisa!
