The Venango Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the promotion of Kathryn (Kat) Thompson to the role of Vice President.

Thompson joined the Chamber team in September 2021 as Membership & Education Manager, bringing with her a strong passion for community engagement and leadership. She first became involved with the Chamber through FLEX (Future Leaders and Entrepreneurs Exchange) and the Leadership Venango program, where she quickly became an active and valued member of the Chamber community.

During her tenure, Kat has played a key role in strengthening the Chamber’s VenangoREADY program and enhancing membership engagement. She has also contributed to a wide range of Chamber initiatives, including event planning, marketing, and organizational support.

“Over the past few years, I’ve had the privilege of building strong relationships with schools, businesses, and the community,” said Thompson. “This new role is both a meaningful step in my career and a deeper commitment to Venango. I look forward to continuing to grow alongside our community and helping shape a future we can all be proud of.”

As Vice President, Thompson will work closely with Chamber President Susan Williams to oversee the Chamber’s daily operations, staff management, financial initiatives, and membership development strategies. The role emphasizes strategic leadership, planning, and communication in support of the regional business community.

In addition to her professional experience, Thompson recently achieved the prestigious IOM (Institute for Organization Management) Graduate Recognition. This honor, awarded by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, recognizes her completion of 96 credit hours in nonprofit management through the Institute’s professional development program. The IOM designation is a nationally respected credential that prepares leaders for long-term success in association and chamber management.
