Head-Line Hair Celebrates 25 Years in Business

Lynne Marshall’s Head-Line Hair opened it’s doors on May 17, 1994. What started as a small salon in a space on Route 322 has become a full service salon by offering services that include cuts, colors, perms, nail services, facials, make-up, waxing, lash extensions, and much more.

Owner Lynne Marshall says, “Our success is completely dependent on an amazingly talented, kind, and dedicated staff. Our mantra has always been to provide superior quality cosmetology services with an attitude of complete professionalism, attention to detail, and unparalleled client comfort and service.”

Head-Line Hair is happy to share their building with talented neighbors like Peaces for You Massage Therapy, Eckert Chiropractic, and Cross & Co. boutique. Marshall says this makes for a wonderful and complimentary environment.

Marshall also recognizes the importance in giving back to the community, and has spent years supporting groups like Newcomer’s Club, Christian Women’s Club, The Fighter’s Ball, Relay for Life, Susan G. Komen, 4H and local schools, churches and fire departments. They have also hosted Glamour Shots, makeover events, Antique Portraits, Ladies’ Night Out, Chamber mixers and several cut-a-thons.

Head-Line Hair will be celebrating 25 years of “A Beautiful You!” with a week of special events running May 14 to May 18.

Head-Line Hair is located at 1047 Allegheny Avenue in Oil City and can be reached by phone for appointments or information at (814) 677-0404.

Oil City vs. Cancer Alumni Basketball Game

The Kirtland Cancer Foundation has teamed up with Oil City Area School District and New York Life to bring an alumni basketball game and fundraiser event to Oil City High School.

The event is being held in honor of Eric Lendrum, an Oil City High School class of 2010 graduate, who recently passed following a battle with Synovial Sarcoma. Half of the proceeds from the event will go to Eric’s family and the other half will go to the foundation.

The game will feature a co-ed Oil City alumni team against the current senior class from the 2019 boys and girls basketball teams. The game will begin at 7 p.m. and there will be a Chinese auction, 50/50 raffle,  and concessions.

Tickets will be $6 for adults and $4 for seniors, students, and children. Visit the Facebook event for more details.

Celebrate Valentine’s Day with Divani Chocolatier & Core Goods

Two of our members—Divani Chocolatier in Foxburg and Core Goods in Oil City—are working together this Valentine’s Day. On Sunday, February 10, from 12 to 3 p.m. at Core Goods, you can enjoy samples of chocolate covered strawberries from Divani, and place an order for strawberries that will be made fresh and delivered on February 14.

For people unable to attend on the 10th, Core Goods will have forms available leading up to the event, so chocolate covered strawberries can still be ordered.

In December, Core Goods started selling “Bliss Bites” from Divani, which are dark chocolate bites  filled with organic nuts.

Youth Alternatives’ Valentine’s Dance

YA Valentine's Day DanceYouth Alternatives’ annual Valentine’s Day Dance will be held Saturday, February 9, at the Oil City VFW Post No. 464. The doors will be open at 7 p.m. and the dance will have live music by Chuck Justice & The Junkyard Lawyers starting at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 and non-refundable.  They are being sold at both Youth Alternatives’ locations, the Oil City VFW and at the Venango Chamber. The camp is free to youth in the Venango County area. Youth Alternatives is able to give youth this experience through contributions from local donors.

The Valentine’s Dance is one of the agency’s largest camp fundraisers of the year. More information is available by calling Youth Alternatives at (814) 676-5785 (Oil City location) or (814) 346-0188 (Franklin location).

Member Spotlight: Ocean Spray Car Wash

Best Car Wash & Gas Prices in Town

Ocean SprayDowntown Oil City is now the home of a new car wash and gas station. Ocean Spray Car Wash opened its doors on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, with an official ribbon cutting on November 13.

Ocean Spray has a state-of-the-art LaserWash 360 Plus car wash system, including four different touchless wash cycles, providing service as close to a hands-on detailing as possible. On site, customers also have access to two vacuums, and radiant floor heat, preventing snow from building up on the premises.

In addition to the car wash, the business has a pay-at-the-pump gas station, with all brand new equipment—tankage, lines, and dispensers. The gas station offers the best prices in town, with an option for even more discounts through bundling. If a customer purchases gas the same time as a car wash, there’s an opportunity to get up to $0.20 more off per gallon.

Although Ocean Spray Car Wash is a new business, it was opened by Daniel L. Heath, owner of Heath Oil, Inc., a longstanding local business. Since 1970, Heath Oil has served our area, starting at its Victory Heights location on Route 322 in Franklin. The business has evolved from a single station to a large wholesale enterprise, with multiple retail sites and bulk facilities throughout the region.

“Venango County has been a great place to live and run a business, and working hard to benefit this rural area has been rewarding,” said Daniel. “The car wash is just another way to continue providing services here. We are happy to provide Oil City with a great car wash without having to travel out of the community.”

Whether you’re looking for convenience, top of the line service, competitive prices, or all three benefits, stop by the new Ocean Spray Car Wash in Oil City!
