One of the most important responsibilities of a business owner is planning for what comes next. At All Seasons Temporaries Services, the Ruffing family has experienced both the challenges and rewards of transition.
Kathy Ruffing joined All Seasons in 1992, just a year after founder Mark Hale started the company. When Mark was ready to sell in 2014, Kathy purchased the business at age 62. Three years later, her daughter, Tiffany Ruffing Nolf, came on board with experience in HR, accounting, and office management.
Kathy intended to gradually pass ownership to her three children—Tiffany, Inde, and Corey—over a three-year plan. Instead, she retired sooner than expected, moving to Virginia to be with Inde and her family. After Kathy’s passing in 2023, Inde returned to Franklin to help Tiffany carry on the business.

Though a formal plan wasn’t in place, Kathy had built a strong, reputable company with long-standing clients and a trusted network of accountants, lawyers, and software experts who supported her daughters during the transition.
Tiffany took naturally to the day-to-day operations, creating a handbook and refining processes, while Inde provided additional leadership. Together, they have continued the company’s tradition of dependable service, noting that many of their clients have been with them for decades.
While little has changed in how All Seasons operates, Tiffany and Inde have adapted with greater flexibility to meet today’s evolving workforce needs. They credit their mother’s foundation for giving them the confidence to move forward.
Reflecting on their experience, Tiffany advises: “Planning is key.” Inde adds, “Especially when a successor has not been identified, documentation is so important.”
Their story highlights an essential truth: transitions don’t always happen as expected, but with strong roots and community connections, a business can thrive into its next chapter.
