Social Media Tip: Using Social Media for the Holidays

The holidays can be a busy time of year. While there’s a lot going on in our lives and businesses, it can be hard to stay on top of social media, but now more than ever you need to be consistent and creative online to reach your audience.

Your biggest sales or engagement with your customers,  can happen this time of year and keeping your pages updated can help significantly. Here are some tips for ways to use social media this season:

Be Festive

Bring a cheerful spirit to your posts. If you sell food items, post festive recipes; if you own a day care, share a video of kids singing Christmas carols; or if you run a nonprofit, upload photos of your seasonal volunteers. Incorporate the holiday spirit when possible.

Make Your Hours Known

If you own a brick and mortar business, be sure to update your hours so your customers know when you are open. You can share these hours a few times to make sure they are seen, to prevent making customers angry if they show up and you are closed.

Go Behind the Scenes

People love to see what’s going on at your business and who is making it happen. Share photos of your decorations, employees at a holiday party, or the steps of creating a gift basket.

Make Shopping Easy

Customers don’t have much time to spend to search for that perfect gift, especially those last minute shoppers, so try to make it as quick and easy as possible. Make sure your customers know of any sales, gift baskets available, or ideas for buying gifts for certain people.

There are just a few social media tips for the holiday season. Be creative and engaging as much as you can. Happy holidays!
