The Oil Region Alliance of Business, Industry & Tourism (ORA) has announced the winners of the fifth annual Oil Region Tourism Awards, highlighting the best of Venango and surrounding counties.
Winners include:
Best Dish: Trail Blazer Burger, Trails to Ales, Franklin
Best Drink: Happy Camper, Woods & River Coffee, Oil City
Best Stay: Miller Park B&B, Franklin
Best Shop: The Printers Cabinet and Curiosities, Franklin
Best Advocate: Amanda Power and Dave Ballard (tie)
Best Destination: Barrow Civic Theatre, Franklin
Best Scenic Selfie Spot: Will’s Christmas Blow Up Extravaganza, Franklin
Best Event: Franklin on Ice
“This year brought some firsts,” said Emily Altomare, ORA Communications and Tourism Manager. “We had our first tie in Best Advocate and our first winner under 18 years old with Will’s Christmas Blow Up Extravaganza.”
The awards celebrate unique features and experiences in the Oil Region, encouraging both locals and visitors to explore the area. Winners receive a certificate and display sign, with recognition through ORA marketing efforts. A reception honoring the winners will be held in October.
Nominations and voting are open each year to residents within the Oil Region National Heritage Area, which includes all of Venango County plus parts of Crawford County.
