Oil City Council has officially welcomed Michelle Hoovler as the city’s new manager, following the retirement of longtime City Manager Mark Schroyer. Hoovler, a homegrown leader who had been the city’s finance officer and most recently assistant city manager, assumed the role retroactive to September 15.
Council members praised Hoovler’s experience and leadership. “It is awesome to see someone homegrown become city manager,” said Councilman Matt Craig, noting the rarity of promoting from within in recent years. Councilman Ron Gustafson highlighted the importance of understanding the city’s finances, while Councilman Mike Walentosky added, “I think you have a calmness and a toughness about you which will serve the city well.”
With Hoovler at the helm, Oil City looks to continue steady leadership and strong community stewardship.
Congratulations Michelle!
