Oil City Main Street is embracing a bold new vision, and with it comes a fresh wave of community events designed to bring people together and celebrate all that makes the city unique.
This year, residents and visitors can look forward to the launch of ARMAF—the Allegheny River Music & Arts Festival. Set for September 12–13, this 1½-day celebration will highlight Oil City’s identity as a River, Arts, Historic, Train, and Business City.
The festival will feature artists, musicians, writers, historians, cultural groups, and local businesses, all coming together at Justus Park and the surrounding areas.
With live performances, art demonstrations, ethnic foods, a beer garden, and activities along the Erie-to-Pittsburgh Trail, ARMAF is set to become a signature event in the city’s calendar.
In addition, thanks to support from the Samuel Justus Charitable Trust, Main Street has acquired equipment to host outdoor movie nights—including a projector, screen, speakers, and even a year’s worth of popcorn.
The first movie will be screened in August with the potential for more nights added if additional sponsors come on board.
Together, these events are part of a growing movement to reimagine and revitalize Oil City. For more information about ARMAF or movie night sponsorship, email srosen@oilregion.org.
