McGill, Power, Bell & Associates, LLP (MPB) provides comprehensive accounting and financial services to local corporations, businesses, manufacturers, nonprofit organizations, government agencies and individuals. The business likes to assist individuals and businesses to be a success.  They offer a broad range of services to help, such as QuickBooks, payroll, bookkeeping, and tax preparations.

MPB has a long history of serving our area. The earliest predecessor firm, Bell & Company, was started in 1927 by Herold Bell in Sharon, PA. The present firm is the result of a series of mergers with leading firms in Western Pennsylvania.

Robert M. Power Sr. began his public accounting practice in Meadville in 1953. Looking to expand the business, the firm merged with Fargo, McGill & Company in 1980 to become Fargo, McGill, Power & Power. In 1982, Fargo, McGill, Power & Power merged with Bell & Company to become McGill, Power, Bell & Associates, LLP. The firm established a presence in Erie in 1999 when it merged with The Pashke Group, previously known as Pashke, Twargowski, and Lee. In 2014, McGill, Power Bell & Associates LLP merged with O’Polka & Company of Franklin to broaden their connection to northwest Pennsylvania and beyond.

Rick Clark CPP, Payroll Services Coordinator at MPB, told us he most enjoys working in Venango County because of the people. “I know this is a theme I hear repeatedly throughout Venango County,” he said. “The community spirit is high and everyone is friendly.  There is a ‘can do’ attitude that is prevalent.”

MPB encourages their employees to not only work throughout the community, but develop in an environment that allows career growth. The company also stresses the balance between professional and personal life. Clark told us that having a solid team behind you is a piece of advice he’d give a new business owner. “With a strong backbone, you will be successful,” he said.
