Judy Lentz was recently elected to the position of Mayor of Emlenton. We spoke with Judy recently to learn more about her and her position.

What was your path to the position you now hold?
I retired after 36 years as Manager of Medical Staff Services at UPMC Northwest. The position as Mayor was not something I was seeking, but I was recruited and felt it was a good way to serve my community.

What helped prepare you for this job?
My years working as a Medical Staff Services Professional helped prepare me by teaching me good time management and people skills.

What are the key responsibilities of your position?
It is my responsibility to oversee the police department and public safety.

What do you enjoy about the work?
I enjoy learning more about the community and learning through listening.

How could others be helpful to you?
By continuing to help me stay informed! And by being open to new ideas, especially those shared by people who are new to the area.

What are you most looking forward to in 2022?
Learning more about my role as Mayor and how I can be most effective.
