What’s happening in Venango County? We want the answer to be easy to find, whether you’ve lived here your whole life or are visiting.

Be Here Venango has created a new sticker that businesses can display in storefronts, breakrooms, and other community spaces. Simply scan the QR code to discover upcoming events happening throughout the county.

The decal, designed by local artist Raven Nespor (pictured left) of Obscure Bird Arts, also introduces a new local mascot: Edwin the Otter!

Why an otter? The name Venango is believed to come from the Native word Onenge, meaning “otter,” making an otter a fitting little ambassador for our county.

And the name Edwin? That’s a nod to Edwin Drake, whose historic oil well helped put our region on the map. Edwin the Otter brings together two pieces of Venango County’s story while giving us a fun new mascot as we explore what’s happening here today.

Keep an eye out for Edwin the Otter around Venango County and scan to see what’s happening! Stickers coming soon.
