You should always get the customer what they are looking for and be kind while doing it, but there is more you could do to ensure that customers leave satisfied and want to come back again—go the extra mile.
Go above and beyond and do something that they don’t expect or ask for.
This could include giving a sample of a product, providing extra information, helping them carry their purchase to their car, or following up on something.
During this Covid-19 crisis, you might not be face-to-face with customers, but you can still do many things above and beyond.
Write them a note on their to-go order, send them a thank you card, give them something extra with their order, hold something aside for them that you know they like, or take the time to ask how they are doing.
It’s the little, extra steps you take that can create a culture of great customer service at your business.
