Local Organizations Highlight Importance of Women’s Health

The Oil City–Franklin Zonta Club and the Oil City YWCA are continuing their shared commitment to supporting women in the region by promoting awareness of overall health and well-being.

In recognition of Women’s Health Month each May, the organizations are highlighting the importance of preventative care, self-advocacy, and balanced wellness. This national observance encourages women to take a proactive approach to their physical, mental, and emotional health.

As part of these efforts, the groups will host a Women’s Health Extravaganza on Saturday, May 16, at the Oil City YWCA. The event will feature a keynote presentation, “Whole Health, Whole Woman,” by Julia Allman, focusing on the importance of caring for one’s health across all aspects of life.

Attendees will choose from several breakout sessions led by local professionals, including massage therapy (Kammi Mooney), pelvic health (Dr. Anneliese Welch), financial well-being (Kodie Earp-Hughes), pelvic floor health (Emily Toto and Morgan Pifer), and art therapy (Gabrielle Allman). The program will conclude with a chair yoga session led by Jess Hoffman.

Through initiatives like this, Zonta and the YWCA continue creating opportunities for education, connection, and support for women.
