5 Ways Your Business Can Help Shape the Future Workforce
The Venango Area Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to career readiness in our community. Programs like VenangoREADY (and ForestREADY) connect businesses with students and educators, preparing them for the workforce and showcasing local career paths. Here’s how your business can get involved in 2025:
1. Support the VenangoREADY Program
VenangoREADY equips students with key skills like communication, teamwork, and work ethic. Your business can help by:
· Registering as a Supporter: Be featured on our website as a champion of essential workplace skills.
· Serving as Guest Speakers: Share insights on careers, industries, and needed skills.
· Hosting Facility Tours: Give students a behind-the-scenes look at your operations.
· Joining the Annual Educator Expo: Connect with educators and highlight your business each spring.
2. Contribute to the Monthly Education Email
The Chamber’s monthly email links educators, students, and businesses. Your contributions can include:
· Job shadow or internship openings
· Tours, open houses, or presentations
· Career-related materials
3. Create Career Posters
Showcase your business with free career posters shared with local schools to help students and families explore job opportunities.
4. Use the Job Shadow Guide
The Chamber’s Job Shadow Guide connects students and educators with businesses. By registering, your business becomes a resource for students exploring career options.
5. Join Career Fairs and Mock Interviews
Career fairs and mock interviews connect you with future talent. Hosting a booth introduces students to your career paths, while mock interviews let them practice skills and allow you to meet potential hires.
Partnering with the Venango Area Chamber of Commerce builds the local workforce. By helping students develop skills and explore opportunities, you show your commitment to the community.
