Drake Well Museum and Park is now accepting applications for its Summer 2026 Museum Internships and the newly established David L. Weber Research Internship, also for Summer 2026.
The museum is hiring two Summer Museum Interns through Friends of Drake Well, Inc. These paid, full-time seasonal positions run between May and August 2026 and offer post-secondary students valuable hands-on experience. Interns will support a variety of museum functions, including educational programming, curatorial and archival work, museum outreach, and more.
Interns will work primarily at Drake Well Museum and Park in Titusville, with one day per week at Historic Pithole City near Pleasantville. Applications for the two Summer Museum Internships are due by February 9, 2026. Additional details, including position requirements and application instructions, are available at drakewell.org/join-and-support-us/employment.
Drake Well Museum and Park is also accepting applications for the new David L. Weber Research Internship, offered through Friends of Drake Well, Inc. This opportunity is designed exclusively for graduate-level students with experience in research and academic writing. Named in memory of longtime Drake Well historian and researcher David L. Weber, the internship will further research on Pennsylvania’s early petroleum industry.
The Weber Research Intern will also author an article based on their findings for the OilField Journal, Friends of Drake Well’s scholarly publication. Applications for this internship are also due by February 9, 2026, with full details available on the museum’s employment webpage.
All three internships are excellent opportunities for students studying History, Public History, Museum Studies, Archaeology, Anthropology, Education, Sciences (Chemistry, Environmental, etc.), Library Sciences, Non-Profit Administration, or related fields.
