The Venango Chamber is excited to welcome Hannah Plowman as our new Workforce and Education Coordinator. A recent graduate of Westminster College, Hannah brings energy, fresh perspective, and a strong passion for community engagement to our team. In her new role, she will support initiatives that connect students, educators, and employers—most notably through programs like VenangoREADY and ForestREADY.
Born and raised in Oil City, Hannah is no stranger to our region or its people. We’re excited to have her on board and look forward to the impact she’ll make as she builds relationships, supports workforce development, and strengthens education connections throughout Venango County and beyond.
To help you get to know her better, we sat down with Hannah for a quick Q&A:
Can you tell us a little about yourself and where you’re from?
I was born and raised in Oil City, PA and graduated from Westminster College this past May.
What did you study at Westminster College, and what drew you to that field?
I studied Strategic Communication and Social Media at Westminster. I was drawn to the field because of the social media aspect, but became more interested in studying public relations and event management as I went through college.
What inspired you to join the Chamber of Commerce team?
Throughout my life, I have always been involved with community work. I was also interested in working with local businesses and participating in local events, which inspired me to continue working at the chamber.
What are you most excited to work on in your new position?
I am most excited to get to work with local educators and students to help further the VenangoREADY program in the area!
Are there any specific goals or projects you’re looking forward to tackling in your first year?
I am hoping to build more connections with alumni of the VenangoREADY and ForestREADY programs.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I like spending time with friends and family, as well as travelling, reading, and spending time outside.
Do you have a favorite local spot or hidden gem in the area?
I love going to Woods and River in Oil City and can’t wait for their second location to open downstairs!
Welcome to the team, Hannah!
