Erie's Piano Man, Matt Gavula started playing
music while in High School. This self taught musician

on the piano playing songs from his idols Billy
Joel and Elton John. Matt quickly learned the
piano and picked up the guitar soon after. After
high school, Matt traveled to Canada where he
had a shot at playing in the N.H.L. but was sidelined
due to an injury he sustained during tryouts.
Matt came back to Erie with a new passion...becoming
a starving artist. Matt's talent landed him a
gig with another successful Erie band, FRICTION.
Soon after joining, FRICTION changed to the country
band US MARSHALL. When US MARSHALL split, Matt
took this opportunity to focus on his music and
his performance abilities. Matt quickly landed
several gigs including Molly Brannigans. After
a year and a half, Matt teamed up with Lightning
Strike Productions to record a CD and to begin
a tour of Northwest PA. Matt's CD, "Mandy's
Songs" will be released in 2007,. Matt Gavula
is known as "Erie's Piano Man" but now
has expanded his reach into the Pittsburgh and
Harrisburg regions. Matt's acoustic performance
showcases him playing piano and guitar along with

received airplay on about 7-8 different radio
stations in 3 states. We have been featured in
at least 15-20 different newspaper articles, event
advertisements, etc.We play a variety of music
including classic rock (50's, 60's, 70's), country
western, and some pop music. Our repertoire has
grown to the point where we have enough of a selection
that we can play to the demographics of the listeners.
We monitor the audience to see what types of songs
they are enjoying and tailor our performance accordingly.

to that point.
